"The sun is a daily reminder that we too can rise again from the darkness, that we too can shine our own light." — S. Ajna
Here’s what I learned or was reminded of this week:
You’re the kind of leader who sees through noise. You don’t chase shiny tactics, and you’re not easily steered by hype.
Here’s the leak: around this week’s topic—position before decision—you’re still playing by someone else’s script of speed over setup.
The cost is real: days stolen by urgency, choices made hot, and outcomes that drift from who you are. In a single quarter, that compounds into missed deals, frayed trust, and a brain that never fully resets. The part of you that knows better—the calm planner who acts on principle—is knocking.
Step out of the trap. In this newsletter, you’re allowed to change the story: build position so the decision makes itself. That’s the Inside‑Out Alignment move—identity first, behavior next, results last. Emotions are signals, not steering wheels; when labeled and placed, they stop running the show and start informing it.
Inspiration for this week’s newsletter? Shane Parish comment: A good position allows you to think clearly rather than be forced by circumstances into a decision. One reason the best in the world make consistently good decisions is they rarely find themselves forced into a decision by circumstances. You don’t need to be smarter than others to outperform them if you can out-position them. Anyone looks like a genius when they’re in a good position, and even the smartest person looks like an idiot when they’re in a bad one.
🔥 Position beats panic.
Good spots make clear thoughts. Bad spots make rush choices.
Name what you feel (“tense,” “confused,” “calm”). When you give a feeling a label, your brain settles and your choices sharpen.
Do this before the big call so pressure can’t boss you around. That’s how you stop being pushed and start placing yourself.
🔥 Future You sits first.
Ask: “Where would my future self sit today?” Then sit there now.
Make one rule: “I decide hard things when calm, not when hot.”
This tiny identity move puts you in charge of the room, the pace, and the next step—before emotions flare. That’s how right action becomes the easy action.
🔥 One move that removes five.
Good position = fewer choices, not more.
Clear your desk, block your calendar, and set the first play.
When you cut clutter, your brain stops juggling and starts judging well. Fewer paths, cleaner sightlines, better decisions—every time.

🔥 Pressure is a switch, not a storm.
When heat rises, slow your breath and update your label: “I’m the buyer, not the beggar.”
That flips you from reacting to selecting.
A steady body gives a steady mind, and steady minds choose better. This is how you hold frame when others lose theirs.
🔥 Seed the day, win the game.
In March, teams with smart seeding and matchups look like geniuses; in bad spots, even stars look lost. Start your day with a task that buys time, not steals it.
Guard your first 90 minutes and you’ll guard your week. “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” — Proverbs 4:23. In modern terms: protect your inner position, and your results will follow.
But what do I know? I’m just a regular guy, an underdog 😁. Trust in yourself and your intuition. Believe in your abilities. Never underestimate the power of consistency. Keep showing up every day. The future is bright for those who persist. And I see you as that type of person. Keep going!
