"The sun is a daily reminder that we too can rise again from the darkness, that we too can shine our own light." — S. Ajna

Here’s what I learned or was reminded of this week:

Ever notice how the loudest voice in your head is often the one that doubts you? Here’s the truth: self-trust isn’t automatic—it’s a choice. And when you don’t choose it, someone else will choose for you.

The good news? Trust grows when you stop gripping so tight and start letting go. Like a swing—you can’t feel the motion if you’re clinging in fear.

Inspiration for this week’s newsletter? Self-trust is a choice because, after childhood, it doesn't just happen automatically. And the greatest misplacement of trust of all appears will we trust someone who tells us, directly or indirectly, that we are not worthy of our own trust. We can learn to trust others only to the extent we can first trust ourselves. After all, if I can't trust myself, how can I choose? What or who I can trust?

🔥 You Can’t Hear Truth in a Crowd
When you’re always surrounded by noise, you start mistaking other people’s voices for your own. Take time to walk in silence—not to escape, but to listen. Your future self is already speaking; you just need space to hear it. “Be still, and know that I am God.” (Psalm 46:10) Stillness isn’t weakness—it’s where strength begins.

🔥 Control Feels Safe… Until It Isn’t
Holding on to control feels like security, but it’s actually a cage. The more you grip, the less you grow. Real trust is like letting go of the swing—you can’t feel the joy of motion if you’re stuck thinking about falling. Freedom starts when you loosen your grip.

🔥 Your Brain Believes What You Repeat
Every time you say, “I can’t,” your brain takes notes. Speak what you want, not what you fear. Words aren’t just sounds—they’re blueprints. If you want a future you trust, start building it with the language you choose today.

🔥 Comparison is a Thief in Disguise
Scrolling through everyone else’s highlight reel? That’s like judging your roots by someone else’s flowers. Trust grows underground first. Stop asking, “Am I there yet?” and start asking, “Am I planted where I can grow?”

🔥 Faith is a Muscle, Not a Mood
You don’t wait to feel strong before lifting weights—you lift to get strong. Same with trust. You don’t wait to feel ready; you act, and readiness follows. “Faith without works is dead.” (James 2:17) Every small act of courage is a rep for your trust muscle.
